“Feesten is de metselspecie van het leven.”

Dichteres en Ruigoordtrofee-draagster Diana Ozon (1959) komt al vanaf eind jaren zeventig naar Ruigoord. Haar gedicht ‘Het sprookje van Ruigoord’, over de punks in leren jassen die ‘s nachts kleine vuurtjes maakten op de toen nog kale vlakte rond Ruigoord, is een oproep tot het verwelkomen van vreemdelingen in de kring rond het vuur.

Diana behoorde tot een scene in Amsterdam die verbindingen had met het Amsterdams Ballon Gezelschap. Hans Plomp schreef gedichten voor punkblad de Koekrant, dat uitgegeven werd door Diana Ozon en Hugo Kaagman. Diana regelde dat de punkband Jesus and the Gospelfuckers optrad in de kerk in Ruigoord.

Jarenlang las Diana Ozon gedichten voor tijdens de Landjuwelen waar ze ook samen met Leo van der Zalm het festivalbulletin RuigNews maakte, een mooi alibi om zich te verdiepen in healings en andere magische Ruigoordzaken. Ook  maakte ze soms beelden voor de beeldenrouteprocessie. Soms stuitte de punkhumor van Ozon en Kaagman op onbegrip bij de Ruigoorders.

Diana Ozon “Partying is the mortar of life.”

Poet and Ruigoord Trophy holder Diana Ozon (b. 1959) has visited Ruigoord since the late 1970s. Her poem ‘Het sprookje van Ruigoord’ (The Ruigoord Fairy Tale), about punk rockers in leather jackets lighting bonfires at night on the barren ground that once surrounded Ruigoord, is an appeal to welcome any stranger into the circle around the fire.

Diana belonged to an Amsterdam scene that was closely connected to the Amsterdam Balloon Company. Hans Plomp wrote poems which were published by Diana Ozon and Hugo Kaagman in punk magazine ‘Koekrant’. Diana organized performances by punk group ‘Jesus and the Gospelfuckers’ in Ruigoord church. She recited poems at the Landjuweel festivals for many years. At these festivals, she and poet Leo van der Zalm produced the festival bulletin ‘RuigNews’, providing her with an excellent alibi to go deeply into the knowledge of healings and other Ruigoord rituals.

Diana also made sculptures for the annual full moon procession in August.

Ozon and Kaagman have a typical ‘punk-humour’, which is sometimes misunderstood in Ruigoord.
